Exam Week Student Supervision
Exam week for Grades 9-12 run from January 20-24, (see schedule elsewhere in newsletter). During this week, students are expected to be present for exams. Devotions will take place in homeroom classrooms at 8:30 and exams begin immediately after. Students are required to take a minimum of 1 hour to complete their exam; Grades 9-11 have until noon to complete exams, while Grade 12 diploma exams allow up to 6 hours for completion.
Upon completion of exams, students are free to leave and are not required to sign out. There will not be official supervision of students following completion of exams. If students are remaining at school to catch the bus at the end of the day they are expected to find a quiet place to study or do other work. The library will only be available for study purposes.
Regular school rules apply while students remain in the building. They can use personal cell phones in the office, or the office phone to arrange for a ride home if necessary. Student laptops are only available for studying purposes, and should be used in the library or foyer area only.
For exams students may bring a water bottle, any additional materials allowed by their teacher (e.g. formula sheets, calculators, etc.), quiet snacks. Students are not allowed personal devices, bags and backpacks, hats, or crunchy/loud snacks.
